Savona Village Officials, To Honor A Local First Grader
In the Savona Village park, crews are working on building a splash pad for students. It will be named after Lillee Rae Bronson, a first grade student at Campbell-Savona, who died in 2022 of bone cancer. The splash pad is being built with money, which came in from donations from Corning Incorporated and Architectural Concrete Plus and Custom Mix Concrete.
Hochul Wants To Ban Ice, From Housing Prisoners In New York State's County Jails And Local Jails
Democrat Governor Kathy Hochul says, an agreement has been worked out, on the state budget. Canisteo Republican Joe Sempolinski says, don’t hold your breath for that, it could be weeks away. Also, according to the governor, the state budget has an ICE ban included in it. “The final budget will prohibit local governments, state and local police, and state and local corrections, from entering in to agreements with the federal government that allow for state and local resources to be used for civil immigration enforcement and detention purposes," Hochul said yesterday. "This includes jails. Local governments will also be barred from paying or in any way, contributing to the costs related to constructing, owning, or operating an immigration detention facility."
Steuben County IDA Update On A NY Forward Project
Steuben County Industrial Development Agency Director Jamie Johnson says, work on the Lake Champlin Pier, and that’s getting paid for from the New York Forward money, is expected to be done by this October. Work is slated to begin on July 7.
Bath Board Of Ed's Public Hearing On The School Budget
