Big News From Corning Incorporated

Corning  Incorporated and computer company NVIDIA are going to be working together on multi-year AI projects.  A Corning Inc spokesperson says, because of this partnership, Corning Incorporated will be creating more than 3,000 jobs in North Carolina and Texas and will be building three new facilities in those states. 

Jensen Huang, founder and CEO of NVIDIA, said, “AI is driving the largest infrastructure buildout of our time – and a once-in-a-generation opportunity to reinvigorate American manufacturing and supply chains. Some Possible Good News For Gunlocke Employees

Steuben County Industrial Development Agency Director Jamie Johnson says, with the closing of Gunlocke in Wayland, comes a possible answer from Czech Republican railway manufacturing company, Bona Trans.  "The timing is fortuitous," Johnson said.  "When Gunlocke closed, immediately, Bona Trans reached out to the I.D.A. and wanted access to the Gunlocke employees.  Bona Trans has been working very closely with Workforce New York and others on this," Johnson explained.

Public Hearing Tonight At Prattsburgh Cenral School

Prattsburgh School Superintendent Kory Bay says, there will be two budget informational meetings for Prattsburgh Central School’s 2026-2027 budget.  One is this evening at 6pm in Room 301 at Prattsburgh Central, another on Thursday of next week,  also at 6pm at Prattsburgh Central in Room 301.  The Prattsburgh Central Superintendent says they are looking at a tax levy increase of 40.6% next year.

 

Footin It For Family Is Back Once Again

The 10th annual Cohocton 5K run/walk called “Footin’ It For Family,” it’s to raise money for the Ann and Carl Myers Cancer Center in Dansville.  This is held in Cohocton and will be Sunday, May 17.  If you go to this website,  you can register.  The 5k event is on Dutch Hill Road in Cohocton and the total cost is $35.60.
