There Were Outages This Morning In Steuben County
In the 7am hour this morning, there were hundreds of NYSEG outages in Steuben County. In Bath, there were 27 NYSEG customers without power. In Campbell, there were 872 outages. In Savona, 299 customers did not have power. In Thurston, they had a total of 265 NYSEG customers without power.
The Upcoming Bath Village Meeting
Bath Village Mayor Michael Sweet tells our news departmnt that he is working on getting more information and suggestions on how to decrease the crime rate in Bath. Sweet says he wants to move forward with this and get more data and then, get the community’s feedback at a special meeting at the Bath Fire Hall. The date for this meeting has not been set as of yet.
Update On The Possibility Of Dissolving Village of Addison
Addison Village Mayor Ed Soporowski says, coming up June 8 there will be a public hearing on this at 6pm at the Addison Community Center. On June 16, the village board will review all comments, recommendations and suggestions from the June 8 meeting. If any revisions are made, that will be submitted to the Addison Village Board on July 1. Then on July 13 there will be a village board vote and the village board will set the date for a public referendum, or stop the process. If there is a referendum on dissolving the Village of Addison, that would happen on September 15.
The Latest On The Possible C.A.R.T. Teams For Steuben Co
Steuben County Emergency Services Director Tim Marshall is working on an idea, to start up what are called CART Teams, to rescue farm animals when they break loose on roads during a rollover accident. The C.A.R.T. Teams would also be there to rescue people’s pets when there is major flooding. Marshall says he’s thinking of bringing in Cornell Cooperative Extension, the Finger Lakes SPCA and Humane Societies, to make up these teams.
