A New S.R.O. For Corning-Painted Post

Sheriff Allard says, there’s a new School Resource Officer at the Corning Painted Post School District.  The sheriff says that retired Steuben County Sheriff’s Deputy Todd Terwilliger will be working for Corning Painted Post, as the new school rescource officer .     

 

Will Steuben County Get C.A.R.T. Teams?  Quite Possibly 

Steuben County Emergency Services Director Tim Marshall might create local teams, to deal with accidents such as trailer rollovers when farm animals escape on to the road.  There would also be a team to help people with pets, escape a severe weather incident, such as a flood.  The teams would be called C.A.R.T. – that’s County Animal Response Team.

 

Some Thruway Construction Is Slated For Ontario Co

According to Gov Hochul, work on I-90 is coming up in Ontario County.  This will be between exit 42 and Exit 44 and it’ll be between the Geneva-Lyons Exit and the Canandaigua Victor Exit.  

 

Schumer: Lets Have A Ban On Betting By Gov't Workers

Yahoo Finance News reports that Democrat US Senator Chuck Schumer says, the White House must pass a law to ban government employees from making prediction market bets.  Schumer says Congress must not be turned into a casino.  

“Members and staff representing the public should never be able to gamble on wars, on economic crises or on elections,” Schumer said in a statement on Sunday. “The very possibility that a member’s vote could be influenced by a bet is reason enough to slam this door shut.”
