Another Great Tyrtle Beach Event On Friday
It was another very successful Tyrtle Beach event on Friday night. Event organizers say they brought in over $40,000 this year.
Bath School Budget Update
Bath School Superintendent Kelly Houck says, the proposed school budget for the Bath Central School District is Tax Cap Compliant. Houck says it’s a •2.4% increase which means it’ll go from $13.52 per thousand of assessed value, to $13.84 cents per thousand. Also, for a $100,000 home, the increase would be $22.40. Superintendent Houck also says, that’s if nothing changes between now and voting day – May 19.
Steuben Co Sheriff's Dept Is Encouraging Blue Envelope Use
Steuben County Sheriff Jim Allard says, if you or someone you know has autism, please contact the sheriff’s department and they’ll give you what’s called, a blue envelope. Blue Envelopes are given to law enforcement by those with autism, during pullovers, so that the officer has a better understanding of the driver’s medical situation.
Both Parties Issue Statements About Saturday Incident
Republican candidate for governor Bruce Blakeman issued a statement about the Saturday night shooting at the White House Correspondents Dinner in Washington. “We were grateful that President Trump and First Lady Melania were safe, as well as those who were in attendance,” said Blakeman. U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand says she was relieved that everyone attending the dinner was safe and she says she’s grateful for the quick response from Secret Service.
From US Senator Chuck Schumer: “I’m grateful for the quick response of law enforcement.”
From Congressman Nick Langworthy: “Thanking the United States Secret Service for their courage and bravery under fire. An agent took a bullet to the chest. Thank God his life was saved by his vest. Law enforcement’s heroic and quick action saved the lives of many at the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner.”
The Village Of Addison Might Be Dissolving
The Corning Leader reports that the Addison Village Board will vote this coming Wednesday at 6pm, on whether to move forward with a proposal to dissolve the village or to squash the proposal.
