Steuben County Man Charged With Child Endangerment

Corning Police report the arrest of 50 year old Eric Kizis of Painted Post.  Kizis was charged with two counts of child endangerment.  According to Steuben County District Attorney Brooks Baker, the charges stem from Kizis' alleged conduct as a coach towards two students under the age of 17.   Kizis was released on his own recognizance.   

 

Dominic Bova Is In Court Today For A Hearing 

Addison bank robbery suspect, 31 year old Dominick Bova of Corning, is in Steuben County Court today for a Huntley Hearing.  That’s according to D.A. Brooks Baker.  Bova was charged the other day for allegedly assaulting another inmate in the Steuben County Jail, who suffered facial injuries.  

 

A Study To Begin Soon For Bradford & Campbell-Savona

We contacted Bradford Central Superintendent John Marshall to get an update on the possible school merger between Bradford and Campbell Savona.  Marshal says, the plan is for the feasibility study to begin towards the end of May.  This study will go throughout the summer and fall.  The Bradford Superintendent also says that during the study there will be multiple opportunities for community feedback, in both online surveys and in-person meetings.

 

Campbell Savona Central's Proposed Budget Numbers

Campbell Savona Central Superintendent Jason Rosno says, the Campbell Savona proposed budget is $28,153,081 which is up 3.17%.  He also says that the proposed tax levy increase is 2.25%.  Voting hours on May 19, will be 12-8pm in the Jr./Sr. High School gymnasium lobby. 

 

State Senator Pam Helming's Protect Act 

Ontario County State Senator Pam Helming is trying to pass a law called The Protect Act – that’s to give judges more power to hold suspects.  Word is both the Monroe County Sheriff Todd Baxter and our own Sheriff Jim Allard, are hoping the Protect  Act, passes.

 

Better Than Ezra And Others, To Appear At The State Fair

1990’s band Better Than Ezra will be at the New York State Fair this summer.   That will be Friday September 4, in Syracuse.  Also appearing there this summer are the All American Rejects, Sean Paul, Melissa Ethridge, ZZ Top and other big names.
