Early Voting Numbers So Far - In Steuben County

Early voting numbers: So far in Steuben County, 588 people have done early voting.  Officials also say Corning is the busiest election site.   As of last night, there was an equal amount of Democrats and Republicans voted early: 248 Democrats and 248 Republicans have voted so far here in Steuben County. Also, this week only, Today  and Thursday, the Steuben County Annex Building in Bath is doing early voting until 8pm. 

 

The Multi-Jurisdiction Hazard Mitigation Plan

Steuben County is having a public meeting about the county’s emergency preparedness plans for weather emergencies (they call it the Multi-Jurisdiction Hazard Mitigation plan).  This will be on November 13 at 7pm, at the Steuben County Annex Building on 20 East Morris Street in Bath. 

 

The Government Shutdown Continues

Democrat Governor Kathy Hochul is getting about $30 million dollars to fund state offices and agencies – to get food to low income families, if the shutdown does not end by November 1.  The governor is blaming the Washington Republicans for the shutdown.   However, Republican Congresswoman Claudia Tenney says, congressional Democrats are trying to get rid of President Trump’s Rural Health Transformation, which gets $50 billion dollars to small town hospitals.  Tenney says the shutdown is caused by the Democrats.
