Bath Central School District To Get Dental Health Program
From Finger Lakes Community Health:
Finger Lakes Community Health (FLCH) has received a $25,000 grant from the RCIPA Community Health & Education Foundation, Inc. to strengthen its School-Based Dental Program.
Many families struggle to find accessible dental care, but school-based programs make it easier for children to get the services they need. In partnership with the Bath Central School District, FLCH will install dental equipment in district schools and provide dental exams, cleanings, fluoride treatments, and X-rays to any child enrolled in the Bath school system. When follow-up care is needed, students are referred to an FLCH health center or to their own dental home. This approach helps families by removing barriers and ensuring that children receive continuous, quality dental care without parents needing to miss work.
FLCH currently visits 74 schools across the Finger Lakes region, offering in-school dental care to students and improving access for families who may otherwise face transportation or scheduling challenges. To find out more and register your students, go here: http://bit.ly/4o2LPca
“Funding from the RCIPA Foundation is making it possible for us to purchase the dental equipment we need for this work,” said Mary Zelazny, CEO of Finger Lakes Community Health. “We’re deeply grateful to RCIPA for helping highlight the importance of early dental care for children. Ensuring access to care and building healthy habits at a young age can help children thrive.”
This expansion is made possible through support from the RCIPA Foundation, a private foundation fully supported by RCIPA. The RCIPA Foundation shares the historical mission of providing funding assistance to non-profit Rochester-area organizations that serve the healthcare needs of the community, particularly underserved populations. The Foundation also supports academic and continuing medical education through endowments, scholarships, and fellowships offered in partnership with Rochester-area universities, colleges, and hospital systems.
