Update On Next Weeks Work On East Washington Street

The Village of Bath Street Department issued an update on the paving to take place this coming Monday, October 20 on East Washington Street, between Liberty and Campbell Streets. Originally scheduled to pave between 7am-3:30pm on Monday has now been updated to include both Monday  and Tuesday, October 20 and 21, due to blacktop availability.  There will be no parking on or admittance to East Washington Street from 6am - 3:30pm both days.

 

Alstom Kanona Hybrid Work Stalls, Due To Shutdown

Steuben County I.D.A. Director Jamie Johnson says with the federal government being shut down there has been no activity with the Alstom Kanona project.  The plans were to build an all new kind of train, which will run on new kind of diesel-powered battery, but that’s stalled for the moment according Johnson.  He also says he’ll be working soon on incentives for the old Glenn Curtiss School in Hammondsport.  Officials expect the initial roof work to begin in early November on the Glenn Curtiss School.

A Library Board Meeting Is Slated For Next Week

The Dormann Library in Bath is having a meeting of the library board of trustees on Tuesday  October 21 at 5:30pm.  The public is invited to attend.
