Flags Lowered Today On The Second October 7 Anniversary
Governor Kathy Hochul wants flags across the state lowered today, in honor of the Israeli October 7 victims. “Two years after the horrific attack on the people of Israel, we stand with Jewish people in New York and around the world today and every day, and remember the victims of that tragic day and those still held hostage today,” Governor Hochul said. “As the home of the largest Jewish population outside of Israel, we mourn this tragedy and continue to pray for the safe return of the remaining hostages, an end to the war, and a lasting peace.”

LP Building Solutions: Two Years Injury-Free
From LP Building Solutions:
LP Building Solutions’ Bath, New York mill: our team achieved one year injury-free on September 21, 2025—a major milestone in manufacturing safety. The team worked ~145,000 hours without any safety incidents over the last year. This achievement is even more impressive considering LP New York only opened in October 2023. In just under two years, the team has managed to stay injury-free for nearly half the site’s entire existence. To celebrate, we hosted a steak dinner for all our LP New York team members.

Two Scams Have Been Happening In Steuben County
State Police say there’s a scam out there, at ATM machines. The way the scam works is, the con artist tells a person at an ATM machine that they are unable to get their money, and asks the person at the ATM, to do a withdrawl – after that, the scam artist takes the money from the victim.
Also, Sheriff Jim Allard says there’s a scam been going on in the Corning area, where scam artists pretend to be texting from a local bank saying that you need to click on a link and change your account information. Allard says this is a scam – and says to never give out that kind of info when texting or from a phone call. Call the bank, the sheriff says, to verify anything like that.
