Bank Robbery Arrest & Indictments

27-year-old Dominick Bova has been indicted on 14 criminal counts in connection with the recent bank robbery in Addison. Charges include two counts of robbery in the first degree, two counts of robbery in the second degree, one count of grand larceny in the third degree, one count of coercion in the second degree, one count of intimidating a witness in the third degree, three counts of tampering with physical evidence, one count of criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree, and three counts of menacing in the second degree. All counts are felonies, except for menacing in the second degree, which is a misdemeanor. 

 

Corning's Annual Harvest Festival

Thousands of people are expected to flock to downtown Corning’s Market Street this weekend for the annual Harvest Festival, featuring live music performances, hayrides, vendors and on-street dining.  Throughout the free two-day event, Market Street will be closed to vehicle traffic for outdoor dining, live music, and on-street vending from small businesses and farmers market vendors. 


Upcoming CCE Steuben County Farm Trail Day 
Cornell Cooperative Extension of Steuben County (CCE Steuben) has announced its fourth annual Farm Trail Day happening next month. The event will bring together fourteen local farms and agribusinesses for the community. 
Farm Trail Day will happen on Saturday, October 11. The event is being put on in partnership with CCE Steuben, Explore Steuben, and the fourteen local businesses. 

 

2025 Steuben County Strong Kids Safe Kids Festival Results 

The numbers are in on this past weekend's Strong Kid Safe Kids Festival at the Steuben County Fairgrounds. Over 270 kids attended from Towns throughout Steuben County. The event was put on by the Steuben County Youth Bureau to provide information and resources for families in support of Strong Kids and Safe Kids. The Steuben County Sheriff’s Office report they had 25 child seat checks and replaced 14 and handed out 75 bike to help keep kids safe. 

 

Bath New York Forward Grant Voting

If you were unable to attend the September 11th public meeting regarding the 4.5-million-dollar New York Forward Grant for downtown Bath. There are 16 proposals of which 7 will be selected. Your input is welcome, go to bathnyf.com, review the proposals and vote virtually. Community input is welcome and today is the last chance to vote. 

 

Bath FD vs Bath PD Softball Game

A benefit Softball game will be held this Sunday between the Bath Volunteer Fire Department and the Bath Police Department. The game will be a 7-inning affair to benefit the Bath Area Food Bank.  Admission is a non-perishable food item and will be held at the Haverling Bus Garage softball fields and will begin at 1:00pm. 

 

Kanona Rest Stop Closure

The NYS Dept. of Transportation announced that the Kanona Rest Area on I86 in Bath, is closed today through tomorrow for ongoing pavement work.  During the two-day closure, motorists are encouraged to slow down in work zones and consider alternate stops or routes.  LIVE traffic updates and alternate route suggestions are available on the state's website, 511NY.org or motorists can use the 511NY mobile app.
