Good News For Alfred State And Corning Community

Congressman Nick Langworthy says Corning Community College will receive a $150,000 grant from the Appalachian Regional Commission- that’s for the College’s Workforce Education and Labor Market Alignment. Langworthy says This funding will help the College do a multi-phase project to ensure the institution offers the training and skills to its students that are necessary and in-demand by regional employers. 

 

It's Sheriff's Week And Emergency Preparedness Month

It’s both sheriff’s week and emergency preparedness month.  Yates County Sheriff Frank Ryan says, while there are manyfunctions and duties for sheriffs the main duty is being a peace conservator – and that always remains the same.  On emergency preparedness, officials say if you’re a home owner, have a plan on how to deal with everything from fires to bad weather conditions at your home.

Vogel Wins First Responder Of The Year Award

Last Thursday Glenn Vogel was named the Tri County first responder of the year.  Numerous officials have congratulated Vogel on this award.  Vogel is the fire chief for Campbell.
