Fire In Campbell Tuesday Afternoon, Near Coopers Plains
There was a fire yesterday afternoon in the town of Campbell that was in the 1:00 hour. The Campbell assistant fire chief tells WVIN News that there were no injuries reported. He also says that the garage, which was what caught on fire, was a total loss.
First Day Back To School At Local Schools Will Be Next Week
Students at Hammondsport return on Tues September 2. Students in Bath, Campbell Savona and Avoca have their first day of school on Wednesday September 3. In Prattsburgh and Addison, students go back Thursday September 4.
Bell To Bell Will Be Part Of The Return To Classes
There has been a lot of talk lately about Governor Kathy Hochul’s Bell To Bell rule. That's the all school day-long ban on all student use of cell phones and any internet enabled devices, like Smart Watches and headsets. Bath School Superintendent Kelly Houck says the governor’s Bell to Bell rule also can mean, in some cases the ban continues for those staying after school hours too. Houck also says Bath will have pouches to put their cell phones and other devices, in those devices.
The Bath Fire Dept's Fundraiser Continues
The Bath Volunteer Fire Department’s Firehouse Subs are still being sold at the Bath Fire Station, that’s through this Saturday, and it’s from 11am to 7pm each day.
Alstom High Speed Rail Trains And Hornell, New York
Alstom says that starting tomorrow, the first high-speed trains made in America will begin running along the Northeast Corridor. On top of that, those trains were assembled in their Hornell facility, which has a 170-year-long history of train manufacturing and repair.
The September 4 County Public Meeting in Bath
On that Steuben County Public Informational meeting about natural hazards, that’s a meeting which is coming up September 4 at the County Annex Building. County Emergency Services Director Tim Marshall says, that’s something that they do every five years. He also notes that there will be public comment and input at the Sept 4 meeting.
