Fire This Morning In The Village Of Bath
From The Bath Fire Dept: On August 11, 2025, at approximately 4:26 AM, Bath Fire Department units were dispatched to 220 Liberty Street for a reported structure fire, initially described as a fence burning approximately five feet from a residence. Bath Fire Chief Mike Fiordo was first on scene and reported that the fire had extended to the residence and a nearby vehicle, with flames advancing toward the second floor. A second alarm was immediately requested. Bath Fire units arrived shortly thereafter and made a rapid and effective attack on the rear of the structure, successfully preventing the fire from spreading to the front of the building. Mutual aid and additional manpower were provided by the Bath VA, Hammondsport Fire Department, Kanona Fire Department, Painted Post Fire Department, Bath Ambulance, Steuben County Emergency Services, and the Steuben County Fire Investigation Team. Bath Police Department, Steuben County Sheriff’s Office, and the New York State Police assisted with clearing the building prior to firefighters’ arrival. The cause of the fire remains under investigation. No injuries were reported. Bath Fire Department units returned to service at 8:28 AM. Photo’s courtesy of John Walczak.

The story features a series of quotes from teachers, here’s one of them: "Our kids are smarter, more social, and more motivated to do the things they actually want to accomplish in this world when they don’t have a Pavlovian vibration derailing their attention every 20 seconds."

No Resale Of Tickets When You Win Them
WHEC Rochester reports that some people who won free tickets to go to the Buffalo Bills training camp, were unable to go, and then tried to sell their tickets on stub hub dot com. These individuals are now being fined by Stub Hub. According to WHEC, this is happening because of a law that was passed three years ago, banning the sale of free tickets.
