Air Quality Alert For Steuben County Until Noon

The D.E.C. says there is an Air Quality Health Advisory for Steuben County until noon today.  The health advisory is also in effect until noon in many other parts of the state as well, from here to and including New York City.

 

Elm Street In Bath To Be Closed This Thursday/Friday

The Bath Street crews say, Pike Construction will be closing down Elm Street in Bath Thursday and Friday this week.  This will be from 7am to 3:30pm those days and it will be all of Elm Street closed down. 

 

Steuben Co Might Be Getting High Tech Camera Devices

The Steuben County Legislature is looking at the possibility of buying 63 cameras and placing them around roads countywide, to monitor traffic and potential flooding situations.  Officials would like to have cameras on the three interstates: 86, 99 and 390.   The county would also like cameras in other areas that are well travelled areas and have frequent accidents and flashing flooding.  Steuben County Sheriff Jim Allard says this technology is very advanced.

 

Steuben Co Public Works Commish: Tire Amnesty Day In Steuben Is More For Steuben Residents  These Days

Steuben County Public Works Commissioner Eric Rose says in this year’s Tire Amnesty Day, county residents brought in 14,300 tires.  The year before there were almost 20,000 tires collected on Tire Amnesty Day.  Rose says the reason there were less tires collected this year is because of the rule which says this year, you had to be a county resident to drop off your tires.

 

Claudia Tenney's America First Foreign Policy Plan

Republican Congresswoman Claudia Tenney says she’s working to pass a law called the America First – Foreign Policy Plan. Tenney says it would cut back on funding to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency and distance the U.S. from the World Health Organization.  Tenney says her plan also calls for sanctions against the International Criminal Court.  The congresswoman says, all of these agencies are corrupt and anti-American.

 

Schumer: No More Recission Packages

The Hill.com reports that Democrat Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer wants the Republicans in the House and Senate to agree to not work with President Trump on any more of his recission packages.  Schumer also says, the Democrats are willing to work on pro-military and pro-farmer issues, but the Dems don’t want any more massive cuts.
