Tour De Keuka Is Tomorrow!!!

Tour De Keuka is coming up this Saturday. There will be three bicycle rides around Keuka Lake – the 45 mile ride, the 60 mile ride and the 100 mile ride. It’s a charity bicycle ride that benefits the United Way of the Southern Tier.  The 100 mile bicycle ride goes from the Yates County Town of Penn Yan to the Steuben County Town of Campbell.  The 60 mile ride goes from the Steuben County Town of Wayne to the Steuben County Town of Thurston.  The 45 mile bicycle ride goes from Penn Yan to the Steuben County Village of Hammondsport.

 

A County Office In Bath Is Hiring Nurses

The Steuben County Public Health Office is hiring nurses.  The county public health office says: Are you a nurse looking for a regular, daytime work schedule (with lunch breaks daily)? The Bath And Canandaigua VA's Are Hiring Nurses Too

The Bath VA and the Canandaigua VA are having job fairs for nurses this month.  Both VA’s are hiring RN’s, LPN’s and NA’s with sign on bonuses up to $15,000.  There will be on the spot interviews and great benefits.  The nurse’s job fair at the Canandaigua VA will be Wednesday August 13 from 2pm to 7pm.  The one at the Bath VA will be Thursday August 14 from 2pm to 7pm. 

 

Update On The October 2023 Gang Assault Case In Alfred

The four Elmira area gang assault suspects have pleaded guilty to Gang Assault in the First Degree.  That happened today in Allegany County Court.  According to Allegany County District Attorney Ian Jones, they will be sentenced on September 8 and are expected to get up to nine years in prison.  The gang assault victim, Derek Correa, is a Bradford Pennsylvania resident who has been attending Alfred State College. Correa was assaulted in October of 2023 and has returned to Alfred State College as a student since then.
