Lineworkers are responding. An outage will be required to safely make the repair. Anticipated duration of power outage is two hours.  impacted customers include residence and businesses on May St., E. Morris, Street, Rumsey Street, State Route 415, Jellystone Park of the Finger Lakes at Babcock Hollow campground, and customers on neighboring / nearby streets.   We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. We greatly appreciate your patience and understanding.

UPDATE FROM BEGWS 6:01PM  

Thanks to switches in our system we were able to restore power to a significant amount of customers, including the campground. Unfortunately though, Lake Country Estates MHP, Buck Meadows, and other customers on May Street, Rumsey Street, and East Washington Street Extension will likely be without power for the full two hour duration.

 

RPD: No Name ON The Hornell Man Who Was Stabbed

A Hornell man was stabbed in Rochester, that was on Tuesday night.  That’s according to WHAM TV, they report that the victim was a 32 year old male, who reportedly did not cooperate with police or want any medical attention.  Rochester Police are not saying the name of the stabbing victim.  

 

Congrats To The Southern Tier Library System

The Southern Tier Library System is noting a recent milestone – a record-breaking two million digital ebook, audiobook, and magazine checkouts.. This accomplishment illustrates the continued growth and importance of libraries to communities across the Southern Tier.  The Southern Tier Library System has 48 member libraries across Steuben, Yates, Allegany, Chemung and Schuyler counties.

 

Gov Hochul: No Road Work On/Around July 4 

Governor Kathy Hochul says, the New York State D.O.T. will not be doing construction work on roads and highways, during the July 4th holiday period.  The governor also says, people should be very careful when lighting fireworks.  Hochul also issued a statement, saying that because of the heightened tensions around the world, state police will have an increased presence at large events around the state tomorrow.
