State Troopers are walking from Bath to the Canisteo American Legion in honor of the 8th anniversary of State Trooper Nick Clark’s death. FROM NYSP: Trooper Nicholas F. Clark, 29, was killed on July 2, 2018, after being shot while responding to a report of a suicidal subject in Steuben County. During the incident response, the subject exited the rear of the house and fired a shot, striking and killing Trooper Clark. Trooper Clark entered the State Police on March 2, 2015, and served in Troops C and E.
OBBB Update - From Congresswoman Claudia Tenney
This morning, negotiations about the One Big Beautiful Bill, were going on at the White House. Republican Congresswoman Claudia Tenney says, at the White House now, were House members she describes as “fiscal hawks”, who don’t like the U.S. Senate’s version of the One Big Beautiful Bill. Tenney maintains, these congressmen are not focused on how much the One Big Beautiful Bill will help the middle class and small business owners.
New Police Chief To Be Sworn In At 5:30 Today
Coming up at 530pm this evening at the Bath Village Hall, new Bath Police Chief Don Lewis will be officially sworn in. Several weeks ago, Lewis stepped down from one of his Steuben County Sheriff’s Investigators positions in order to become the police chief here. And, Don Lewis is still a fire investigator for the sheriff’s department. Lewis is also, still the fire chief for the Canisteo Fire Company. Bath Village Mayor Michael Sweet told our news department yesterday, he’s very pleased with the job Police Chief Don Lewis is doing for Bath.
Keuka Lake School Might Expand Programs In Bath
This morning the Steuben County Health And Human Services Committee discussed how officials from the Kueka Lake School in Penn Yan, and possibly other schools elsewhere, are setting things up to expand satellite classes in Bath. According to Steuben County Interim Public Health Direstor Matthew Marmor, right now, it appears that there could be 12 students being housed in one of the schools, here in Bath.
DOT To Stop Construction For Independence Day Holiday
Govenor Kathy Hochul says, the New York State D.O.T. will not be doing construction work on roads and highways, during the July 4th holiday period.
