A Readiness Expo To Be Held In Bath Later This Month
The Southern Tier Chapter of the Red Cross is hosting a Readiness Expo, Saturday, July 19, from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., at the Bath VFW Auxiliary on Route 54 in Bath. Those who attend will be able to see the Red Cross emergency vehicles which are used to distribute food and supplies in emergencies. You'll be able to take a free Red Cross CPR class, learn about home fire safety and about blood donation. The event is free and snacks and water will be provided. Again, that’s Saturday the 19th from 11am till 2pm at the Bath VFW Auxillary.
June 9 Flood Repairs Update
Canisteo Town Supervisor Joe Harrington says, the town of Canisteo has received over $105,000 dollars from FEMA. That money will go towards repairs to Travis Road there. As for roads around here, Steuben County Manager Jack Wheeler says, the roads in Bath and the surrounding area, that were damaged on June 9, are in pretty good shape at this point.
Congresswoman Tenney's Local Heroes Legislation
Congresswoman Claudia Tenney has reintroduced the Remembering Our Local Heroes Act. The legislation will, if passed, direct the Secretary of the Interior to establish a grant program to provide funding for memorials honoring veterans, law enforcement officers, and firefighters.
Schumer Has Been Working On BBB Amendments
Democrat U.S. Senator Chuck Schumer says he’s working on amendments to put in the Big Beautiful Bill to give Republicans many chances to defend Medicaid, SNAP, and good paying jobs. GOP Congressman Nick Langworthy says, he does not have any amendments to enter into the Big Beautiful Bill.
