Apparent Homicide/Suicide In Addison This Morning

FROM NYSP: The New York State Police are investigating a homicide followed by an apparent suicide that occurred at approximately 7:00 a.m. on June 20, 2025, in the village of Addison, Steuben County.
Troopers responded to a reported shooting at a residence on Academy Street following a domestic-related incident. Preliminary investigation revealed that a 45-year-old male arrived at the residence and became involved in a dispute with a 43-year-old female and her 41-year-old male partner. The 45-year-old male reportedly left the location and returned a short time later, at which point he allegedly shot and killed the 41-year-old male.
The suspect then fled the scene in a vehicle, which later crashed near Wall Street. Troopers located the 45-year-old male deceased in a nearby wooded area from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The 43-year-old female was not physically injured during the incident. Autopsies will be conducted to confirm the causes of death. 
State Police were assisted at the scene by the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office and the Addison Police Department.
The investigation remains ongoing. There is no threat to public safety, and no additional suspects are being sought.
 

 

It's Graduation Weekend At Several Local Schools

High school graduations are tonight at in Bath, Prattsburgh and Avoca.  Graduation is tomorrow morning at Campbell-Savona.  Graduation for Hammondsport it’s Friday June 27th at 6pm.  And graduation for Bradford is Friday June 27th at 7pm.

 

GOP Primary Day Is Coming Up Next Tuesday

The Republican Primary is coming up on Tuesday, and because of the upcoming hot weather next week, the Steuben County Board of Elections is encouraging voters to take advantage of early voting.  Early voting is going on today and tomorrow and ends tomorrow at 5pm.  It’s at the Steuben County Annex in Bath.  Voting hours on Tuesday are 6 am to 9 pm for all districts holding a primary.  For more info, go to the county website, that’s Steubencountyny.gov and click on board of elections.

 

Langworthy Stops By Elmira Yesterday

Republican Congressman Nick Langworthy was in Elmira Thursday, talking up his Energy Choice Act.  Langworthy hopes the Energy Choice Act would override the New York State ban on natural gas in newly constructed buildings.
