Village of Bath's Open Call for Projects for NY Forward

FROM BATH VILLAGE HALL: The Village of Bath was recently awarded $4.5 million in funding through the NY Forward Program and is currently seeking transformative local projects for potential inclusion in its NY Forward Strategic Investment Plan.  This Open Call application will serve as an initial expression of interest in the program.  Following your submission, the NY Forward Consultant Team will reach out to ensure all information is complete and provide assistance as needed.   The Open Call application period will be from June 16 – July 18, 2025. Open Call forms are available at Bath Village Hall and at BathNYF.com (pdf version).

 

Projects of all sizes are welcome! Potential sponsors of projects with an estimated total value greater than $75,000 should complete the NYF Project Form. Potential sponsors of projects with an estimated total value less than $75,000 should complete the Small Project Fund Interest Form.

 

To assist project applicants with this process, we will be hosting a virtual office hours meeting to provide guidance and answer any questions on July 10, 2025, from 5-7pm. Please see BathNYF.com for information on how to join this session.

Village of Bath to Hold Second Local Planning Committee Meeting for NY Forward

FROM BATH VILLAGE HALL: The Village of Bath was selected by the Southern Tier Regional Economic Development Council (REDC) to receive a $4.5 million award through the NY Forward (NYF) program. Investment from this program will allow Bath to develop a Strategic Investment Plan (SIP) and implement transformative projects in their downtown. A Local Planning Committee (LPC) will oversee the planning process and development of the SIP.   The second LPC meeting is scheduled for Thursday June 26, 2025 from 5:00-7:00PM at the Bath Fire Department located at 50 East Morris Street, Bath, NY 14810. The meeting is open to the public and will include an opportunity for public comment at the conclusion of the meeting. This meeting will include planning process and engagement updates, overview and characteristics of strong NYF projects, project evaluation criteria, NYF Vision and Goals, and an update on projects submitted through the Open Call for Projects.  For more information on the NY Forward program and upcoming opportunities for public involvement, please visit BathNYF.com. AIP Meets With Local Business Leaders Tomorrow

The Steuben County Agriculture Industry And Planning Committee meets this Wednesday in Hammondsport.  Steuben County Legislative Chair Kelly Fitzpatrick says it’s going to be a roundtable with local business owners, to discuss what can be done at the county level, to help them.

 

Part Of Route 54 Now Closed In Yates County

The D.O.T. says, part of Route 54 in the Yates County Town of Barrington, is now closed to traffic for work on an emergency culvert replacement project. Officials say, Rt 54 is closed at the culvert one mile north of the Steuben County line and is expected to reopen on this Friday. 

 

Early  Voting Has Begun

Early voting started this past Saturday.  In Steuben County, there are primaries for Republicans in Bath, Campbell, Caton, Cohocton, the Town of Corning, Erwin, Hornby, Prattsburgh, Rathbone, Troupsburg, Tuscarora and Wheeler.  Also in Canisteo.
