Fire Yesterday In The Village Of Bath

There was a fire at 2 Chestnut Street in the Village of Bath yesterday afternoon n the 4:00 hour.   The Bath Volunteer Fire Dept. reports that it was a shop attached to a house on fire.  All occupants got out of the residence and the fire is under investigation.

 

Boating And Driving Slowly And Safely

Steuben County Manager Jack Wheeler says yes, boating is allowed in Lamoka, Waneta and Keuka Lakes, but he says, remember to slow down when boating on those lakes.  Also, both Wheeler and county spokesman Eddie VanStine say, that it cannot be emphasized enough, that drivers slow down on the roads, when around public works and highway vehicles.  

 

Palmesano: Natural Gas Use Is At Stake, In New Bill

Corning Republican Assemblyman Phil Palmesano spoke at a press conference yesterday, about a new law he says, would cut down on natural gas use, in New York State.  He says the revamped legislation keeps the section about preventing natural gas usage in New York State.

 

Sempolinski: Expanding List Of Drugs To Be Charged For

Assemblyman Joe Sempolinski says, there are Democrats in the state legislature who are fighting with other Democrats, on passing laws to make tougher prison sentences and fines, on those who are convicted of driving under the influence of drugs.  According to Republican Joe Sempolinski, there needs to be more drugs on the list of what you can be charged for using.
