Two Meetings On June 9, About Bath's $4.5 NY Forward $$$

There are two town meetings on June 9, about the $4.5 million dollar New York Forward money, the village of Bath won in a statewide contest last year.  The first town meeting is from 3pm to 5pm today, the second one is 6pm to 8pm. Both meetings are at the Bath Fire Station.   

Langworthy Visits Hammondsport And Elmira

Congressman Nick Langworthy says Joe Meade, the fourth generation owner of Mercury Aircraft in Hammondsport, took both he and congressional staffers on a tour of the facility recently.  Langworthy also says, the elimination of tax on overtime work will help Mercury Aircraft - especially the assembly line workers.  Langworthy also took a tour the other day, of railcar manufacturer, CAF, in Elmira. 


Schumer: Tourism Is Down

Senator Chuck Schumer tells the Syracuse Post that the tariffs are hurting tourism from Canada this year.  The Senator says this is happening from Buffalo to Ogdensburg.  “Burning bridges and ruining relationships with our closest ally and key trading partner, Canada, right when summer tourism season is arriving, is about as destructive as it gets,” the Syracuse Post quoted Schumer as saying. “Upstate NY is on the frontlines of Trump’s destructive tariff war, and this shocking new data shows our tourism economy is paying the price from Buffalo to Ogdensburg.”
