Addison Woman Charged In Chemung County

The Chemung County Sheriff’s Office announces the arrest of 51-year-old DEBORAH J. McCLELLAN of Addison, NY for Grand Larceny in the Second Degree, a Class C Felony.
On June 28, 2024, the Chemung County Sheriff’s Office, was dispatched to Elmira Structures Inc. located on Philo Road, in the Town of Horseheads, for a fraud investigation. The owner of Elmira Structures advised deputies that ex-employee, McClellan was recently terminated due to fraudulent use of her company issued fuel card. The incident was turned over to the Criminal Investigation Division.
During the investigation, it was determined that McClellan had also made fraudulent purchases from Lowe’s in Big Flats, Ron’s Service Center, Youngs Tires, Ferrario Ford and Amazon using the Elmira Structures business account. These fraudulent purchases totaled over $108,000. McClellan was subsequently arrested and charged with Grand Larceny in the Second Degree.
McClellan was arraigned in the Horseheads Town Court and released. McClellan is set to appear in Big Flats Town Court at a later date.
The Interim Police Chief For Bath Has Been An Investigator From The Bath Village Police Dept
We asked Bath Village Mayor Michael Sweet says, who has been in charge at the police department since Colin Taft stepped down from the position of Bath Police Chief. Sweet says, Bath Police Investigator Michael Jackson, has been in charge of the Bath Village Police Department since Taft announced he was leaving the Bath P.D. Steuben County Sheriff’s Investigator Don Lewis will be assuming the position of police chief in Bath, in March.
Body Found By Chemung River, Has Been Identified
State Police report that the body found along the Chemung River in Elmira in September 2024, has been identified as Matthew Barber of Elmira, who had been declared a missing person by the Elmira Police.
