Suspect Wanted On Parole Violation, Makes A Run For It

State Police report the arrest of a 39 year old male suspect, who was wanted for parole violations and was spotted walking down East Second Street in Corning the other day. Troopers say the 39 year old fled on foot, and there was a chase.  When state police caught up with the suspect, he was charged with 3rd degree criminal possession of a weapon, 7th degree criminal  possession of a controlled substance, resisting arrest and obstruction of governmental administration. 

 

Perkinsville Fire Dept, Saves A Deer, Stuck In The Ice

On Monday morning in the 9am hour, the Perkinsville Fire Department got a call about a deer falling into the ice, and it was stuck in the water on Loon Lake.   Officials say, once the deer was safely pulled out of the ice and water, the Cohocton Valley Ambulance crew provided several blankets to dry and warm the deer up.  The Perkinsville fire department says they left her, resting but alert on land.

 

No New FIre Truck For North Hornell 

In North Hornell yesterday, there was a public referendum at the village hall, about whether to purchase a new pumper truck for $683,000.  North Hornell officials say, the voters turned the referendum, down.  It was 111 no votes over 56 yes votes. 

 

Rochester Area Teens Charged After Car Thief Incident

We reported that during the holidays, there were some vehicles stolen outside of a church in Monroe County.   The Monroe County Sheriff’s Department says, the suspects are three teens, ages 18, 17 and 16, who are facing grand larceny, petit larceny and criminal mischief charges.
