NYS Says Wayland Cohocton Central Needs Better Security, Wayland Cohocton Superintendent Disagrees
State Comptroller Tom Dinapoli reports that after doing an audit of Wayland Cohocton Central School, the state found that Wayland Cohocton Central was not good about preventing unauthorized access to the school district building. The state comptrollers office says that, almost half of the access accounts and ID’s for the non-students and non-staff to be able to get into the building, were ID’s and accounts for those who were not employees. The state also says, that was about a hundred people.
Wayland Cohocton Central School District Superintendent Eileen Feinman disagreed with the idea that just about anyone was granted access to get inside the school. The Way-Co Superintendent said almost all of those who were given ID’s and access to get into the school who were non-employees, were emergency responders.
