Numerous Car Break-In's, In The Rochester Area

Up in Rochester, Monroe County Sheriff’s Department officials say, a silver 2019 Kia Sorento was stolen from a church parking lot, and that 13 other vehicles were broken into and items were stolen from inside them.  Then at another church, multiple vehicles were broken into, during a midnight service, and items were stolen from within. 

 

Will There Be Some Good State Laws Passed This Year?

Steuben County Sheriff Jim Allard is hoping that with the new year we’ll be seeing better laws out of the state capital.  "As we move into 2025, I hope to see a lot more common sense come out of Albany, as far as public safety, so that we can help people feel safer in their homes," Allard said on the Christmas Eve edition of Community Focus. "People have felt less safe at home, since bail reform." 

 

Schumer Gets The Heart Act Passed And Signed 

Democrat US Senator Chuck Schumer says, President Joe Biden signed the Heart Act, which will get defibrillators into all schools, in case a student or staff member, has a heart issue on school grounds.  Schumer promoted this legislation with Buffalo Bills player Damar Hamlin, who had a heart attack on the field, almost a year ago.
