Sorry To Report, There Have Been More Fires
We have reports of numerous fire departments going out to Mill Street in the Town of Erwin in the 11am hour this morning.   In addition, there was reportedly a chimney fire in Greenwood.  Also, the Red Cross is assisting the Bald Hill Road family in the Town of Cameron, after the house fire that happened Sunday evening. 

 

Today Is The Last Day Of County Court For The Year 2024

Steuben County District Attorney Brooks Baker says, today is the last day for county court, for the year. And the district attorney says things will get started up again in the county court in early January.

 

Sheriff Allard: Buckle Up This Holiday Season 

Steuben County Sheriff Jim Allard says, with all the distractions of the holidays, don’t forget to buckle up when you’re out on the wintery roads.  "With all the fun, excitement, and activity around the holidays, people can sometimes overlook basic safety, like buckling up," Allard stated.  "Protect yourself and your loved ones - remember to always wear your seatbelt!"

 

State Grant Comes In For Hornell's Skating Park

In Hornell, Mayor John Buckley says, they’ve been awarded over $531,000 from the New York State Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation Office to build an addition to the Hornell skate park.  The mayor is hoping that this will be a big attraction in the region.
