Water Supply Issues At Jasper Troupsburg Central School

Jasper Troupsburg Central school officials announced yesterday, that they were having water supply issues Sunday in the JT elementary School.  As a result, the Jasper Troupsburg Elementary School is closed today.  However the high school is open. No students or staff should report to the elementary school but students and staff should be at the JT High School today.

 

An Official From Dinapoli's Office Is In Bath This Morning

The Southern Tier Regional Director from State Comptroller Tom Dinapoli’s Office was slated to attend the 9am Steuben County meeting this morning.  Also, the new Steuben County attorney was scheduled be appointed on Monday morning, at the 9:30am county legislative meeting.

Top Dems Tell Washington - Step Up And Stop The Drones

After much pressure from Senators Gillibrand and Schumer and Governor Kathy Hochul, the Biden Administration is sending a drone detection system to New York State.  The governor is thanking the president for coming through on this, as New York State skies have had issues with drones around airports in both Orange County and the New York City area.  Hochul  had put out a statement saying “This has gone too far,” on Saturday pressuring Washington to do something after an airport runway was shut down Friday night, because of illegal drone activity.  At the same time Hochul was asking the Biden Administration to step in, Senator Schumer was making the same request.

 

Langworthy Vs NYS Dems - On Fracking?  Quite Possibly

Republican Congressman Nick Langworthy has been named to the House Committee on Energy and Commerce.  Hinting at the possibility of pro fracking legislation, Langworthy said, there is a lot of Marcellus Shale in this congressional district. 

 

Cornell Cooperative Extension's Public Meeting Schedule

Cornell Cooperative Extension’s first public meeting of the year will be on January 23rd at 4:30pm at the county Annex Building on 20 East Morris Street in Bath.   there will be a public comment period at that meeting.  To be able to attend, call 607-664-2300 in advance.
