Bath Man Is Charged With First Degree Rape

FROM THE SHERIFF'S DEPT:  Steuben County Sheriff Jim Allard reports that on December 11, 2024, deputies and investigators of the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office arrested Dale L. Scofield, age 47, of State Route 415, Bath, New York, following an investigation of a reported rape in the Town of Bath. It is alleged that Mr. Scofield held another person against their will and forcibly raped them. Mr. Scofield was charged with Rape in the First Degree, a class B Felony and Unlawful Imprisonment in the First Degree, a class E Felony. Mr. Scofield was arraigned in the Centralized Arraignment Court and held in lieu of $50,000 bail.

Sheriff Allard thanks the Village of Bath Police Department for their assistance in this arrest.

 

WHEC: Deputy Was Killed, His Own Son, Is The Suspect

WHEC TV reports that 30 year old Richard Fluegel, is accused of killing his own father, and bringing his father’s body to the Livinsgton County sheriff’s department.  His father was a deputy who worked there.  The 30 year old son is facing charges of murder and criminal use of a firearm. 

 

The Laying Of The Wreaths Will Be Held Saturday

The Wreaths Across America – laying of the wreaths, will take place tomorrow morning, Saturday, December 14, at the Bath National Cemetery.  The ceremony is at 12 Noon.  Shuttle buses will be provided.
