Accident In Bath This Morning

 

FROM JOHN CONRAD, BATH VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPT:

 

At 8:16 am Saturday morning The Bath Volunteer Fire Department and Bath Volunteer Ambulance Corps. were dispatched for a one vehicle rollover at the I-86 East bound off ramp with four subjects total, two adults and two minors, and the driver possibly pinned in the vehicle. Upon arrival all occupants had exited the car. AMR Advanced Life Support was also dispatched to the scene and assisted Bath Ambulance to evaluate injuries of all four patients. Two were transported to Corning Hospital while the other two refused treatment.
The vehicle was a Chevy Traverse SUV that is owned by the Andover Central School District that came down the East bound off ramp and continued across West Washington Street, through the guide cables and over the embankment. Assisting on scene was the Bath Village Police and New York State Police. The cause of the crash is unknown to us currently.
All Bath Fire Units were back in service at 9:07 am.
 

 

Accident On Friday In Horseheads

The Chemung County Sheriff’s Office reports that they responded to the scene of a serious motor vehicle/bicycle crash on Grand Central Ave. at Hemlock St. in the Town of Horseheads.

Officials say that preliminary investigation indicates that the vehicle and bicyclist were heading in a northerly direction on Grand Central Ave. when, for unknown reasons, the bicyclist reportredly turned into the vehicles path causing the collision. The bicyclist sustained serious injuries, was transported to AOMC, and then airlifted to Robert Packer Hospital.
