Jury Still Out - On The Larry Schoonover  Case 

The jury in the Larry Schoonover case, went into deliberations yesterday at about 2:30 in the afternoon.  Then the judge sent them home for the night at 5pm yesterday.  The jury deliberations began again, at 1:00 this afternoon. 

 

Brush Fire In Campbell On Thursday Afternoon

There was a brush fire in the 2:00 hour yesterday afternoon in Campbell.  Officials from the Campbell fire department report that they, along with the Addison Fire Department and the Coopers Plains and Savona Fire Departments, responded.  It turned out that a shed, near a residence was also on fire.  Those fire departments got the fire under control and no injuries were reported. 

 

DOT Worker Almost Dies In Near-Miss In Broome County

State Police put out a video of a Department of Transportation worker, almost getting struck by a box truck on I-81 yesterday, because the box truck driver ignored the move over law sign.  The box truck also, hit a DOT vehicle.  There were no injuries.  The driver of the box truck was a 36 year old male, from Phoenix Arizona.  That incident happened in the Broome County area.

 

Veterans Day Weekend Is Here

With Veterans Day coming up on Monday, county buildings in Bath are being lit up in green, in honor of veterans.  This is being done as part of Operation Green Light.  Also, the Corning Museum of Glass is offering free admission for veterans throughout November. Veterans are welcome to bring a guest, who will receive a 15% discount on admission. In addition, on November 9th and 10th, the museum is hosting a free glassmaking experience exclusively for veterans. This one-hour session allows participants to create their own glass pieces and provides a unique hands-on experience.
