Big Day In Bath - The Charters Of Freedom Dedication
The Charters of Freedom setting will be dedicated today at 1:00 p.m. The public is invited to attend this patriotic event.
Steuben County will be the 65th Charters of Freedom setting permanently placed in communities across the country by Foundation Forward, a 501(c)(3) educational Nonprofit created by Vance and Mary Jo Patterson of Burke County, North Carolina. The inspiration to set up Foundation Forward followed their first visit to the National Archives to see the founding documents. Vance Patterson, Founder - “Seeing something our founding fathers had actually penned, and then seeing their signatures – Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, John Adams, Rutledge, Wilson, and the others, I just got goosebumps. And, then when we moved over and saw those first three words of The Constitution, We The People, I actually got a lump in my throat.” “It was really an emotional experience,” Vance recalled.
Langworthy: $15.9 Million Dollars - For Alstom In Bath
Congressman Nick Langworthy says the Steuben County Industrial Development Agency has been awarded $15.9 million dollars to upgrade aging rail engines with modern technology at Alstom’s Kanona facility in Bath. Langworthy says, this grant will be used to repower two existing locomotives with advanced engine technology.
Bath School Officials Are Warning About A Scam
The Bath School District says, there have been scam calls targeting families of students who recently took the S.A.T. or P.S.A.T. exams. These scam callers are requesting personal information, including credit card details, and to mail test results. Bath School officials say, legitimate S.A.T. test organizations will never ask for payment or personal financial details over the phone. And Bath Central School officials say, if you get such a call, hang up immediately.
Bath Area Youths & Laser Etching At Corning Community
Assemblyman Palmesano is at Corning community college yesterday, meeting with eight youths from the ProAction Youth Development Program Palmesano says, the eight young people were from the Bath area and were at Corning Community yesterday, seeing first hand, what laser etching is all about.
