A Hornell Man Is On Trial This Week In County Court

A rape trial started yesterday and is going to be going on today in Steuben County Court in Bath.  The suspect is Jahkeim Blake, 33, of Hornell.  Officials say, Blake is facing a 1st degree rape charge.  Blake has pleaded not guilty.

 

Schoonover Is Scheduled To Be On Trial Next Week

Larry Schoonover is expected to go on trial on Monday.  Jury selection will begin Monday morning and the trial is set to start right after that.  Schoonver was charged back in August 2023, for allegedly firing gunshots at law enforcement on Roosevelt Avenue in Bath.   

 

BEGWS: There Will Be Hydrant Flushing Overnights 

Bath Electric Gas and Water says, Hydrant Flushing in Bath is coming up, starting on Sunday November 3, and going up until the  end of the month of November with that work.

Nice Donation From The Legion, Over In Canisteo

The Canisteo American Legion donated $24,000 to the United Way of the Southern Tier in Corning, for flood damage repairs in Steuben County.   

 

Another Prescription Drug Day Is Coming Up 

There is going to be a prescription drug take back day this Saturday, 10am to 2pm at the Sheriff’s Department, Rumsey Street Extension in Bath.

 

Dormann Library: No Storytime Today/Tomorrow

Officials with the Dormann Library say, there is no Storytime today or tomorrow.  However, this Friday at The Dormann Library, they’ll be having the Annual Halloween Spooktacular.  That ‘ll be Friday from 4:00 until 5:30 pm for Games, Food and Drinks and Music.
