The Wineglass Marathons Are This Weekend, And So Is Octoberfest In Hammondsport

The Wegmans Wineglass Half Marathon starts Sunday morning at 7:45am in Campbell.  The Guthrie Wineglass Marathon starts Sunday morning at 8:15am in Bath.  Also this weekend, the Octoberfest in Hammondsport.  That will be Sunday 1pm-5pm at the Fireman’s Pavillion in Hammondsport.

From Steuben County Sheriff Jim Allard:

It's that time of year again, when we celebrate our county with the second largest marathon in New York State.  Sunday October 6th, the 42nd running of the Wineglass Marathon will occur.  You may see traffic affected in the following areas and times:

Bath:              7am to 9am

Savona:          8:30am to 11am

Campbell:      7am to 12:30pm

Coopers:        7am to 1pm

Painted Post:  7am to 1:30pm

Corning:         8am to 2pm

Please have patience with our deputies and troopers who are conducting traffic posts.  They are there to keep everyone safe.  Also, if possible, avoid the area of SR 415 between Coopers and Campbell as a traffic detour will be re-routed there due to bridge construction on Smith Hill Road.

Enjoy your Sunday and please be mindful of traffic congestion along the Marathon route.

Traffic safety is everyone's business!
