Meet And Greet And BOE Meeting - Wednesday in Bath

There will be a meet and greet tomorrow at the Vernon Wightman Primary School in Bath, that will be with the new instructors at 5:30pm.  The Bath School District’s Board of Education meeting is coming up tomorrow at 6:00pm.  That will be in the Vernon Wightman School Cafeteria.  On the agenda for the Bath School Board meeting: coming up with a replacement for Jennifer Yartym, who has resigned from the school board, and naming a student  to the school board – who won’t have the ability to vote, but will be able to attend board of education meetings.

 

Schumer: Siemens Will Be Building High Speed Cars Locally

Democrat US Senator Chuck Schumer says, Siemens will be building high speed rail cars, in Horseheads.   “America’s high-speed rail future will be built in Upstate NY. Siemens’ investment in Upstate NY will lay the foundation for the next chapter of our nation’s transportation future, making high-speed rail, what only a few years ago seemed like a dream, but because of the Bipartisan Infrastructure & Jobs Law is becoming a reality. After months of relentless advocacy, I am proud to announce this massive 300-job first of its kind manufacturing facility for America is coming to Upstate NY,” said Senator Schumer.  “Upstate New York is unmatched in rail car manufacturing capabilities, with a deep proud history pioneering the rail industry and a community that is excited to get to work building America’s future. Thanks to the trainsets that will be made right here in Chemung County, it’s full steam ahead for America’s high-speed rail future, powered by union workers here in Upstate NY.”

 

Howard's Old Home Days Is This Saturday 

The Town of Howard is having old Home Days on Saturday September 14.  Howard Old Home Days starts at 8am that day, with the parade at 11am.  There will also be a car show and demonstrations put on by the Steuben County Sheriff’s Department.  This will be at the Howard Fire Hall, and it goes from 8am to 4pm.

The Guthrie Clinic has announced that they’ve been recognized by Forbes, as one of the top 100 best employers for women.
