Possible Plans For The NY Forward $$$ In Urbana
Urbana Town Supervisor David Durpo was on WVIN’s Community Focus this morning, talking about possible projects, as a part of winning the New York Forward money.
The Urbana Town Supervisor says possible projects might include: rehabilitating the Glenn Curtiss School, redoing Liberty Street, redoing the entrance to Curtis Park, and the piers and adding enhancements to the fireman’s pavilion.
Screenagers Film, To Be Shown In Hornell On Sept 14
Catholic Charities Prevention Manager Stacey Wing says, they’re going to be showing the movie “Screenagers” at the Spotlight Movie Theater in Hornell on Saturday, September 14 at 9am. Screenagers is about the dangers of drinking and drugs among the youth. "This event is free and we will also have a lot of human services agencies set up," Wing said this morning. "At 9am, they'll be providing information for famlies, about youth, we will have the Emilees Challenge Trailer out in the Center Street Parking Lot, and then the movie will start at 9:30am," Wing explained.
Hammondsport Man Facing Child Pornography Charges
FROM NYSP: On February 7, 2024, the New York State Police in Montour Falls received a Cyber Tipline from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children reporting abuse material that was uploaded to a mobile messaging app.
Subsequent to an investigation, it was determined that James F. Hopkins, age 44, of Hammondsport, NY, used a mobile messaging application to view and exchange photos of child sexual abuse materials.
After several months of investigation, on September 3, 2024, Hopkins was arrested for Promoting a Sexual Performance of a Child: less than 17 years of age (D Felony) and Possession of Sexual Performance by a Child (E Felony). Hopkins was taken to Schuyler County Jail for CAP arraignment.
