Village Of Bath Wins Restore New York Grant Money
Bath Village Mayor Michael Sweet tells WVIN that the Village of Bath won $2,000,000, in the Restore New York money. "We're going to turn the old Dana Lyons School, into apartments that are for the working class," Sweet said this morning. "There will be an income threshold to qualify. So you can be retired and have an income, you can be working and have an income. There will be about 40 apartment units, primarily all single studio apartments, and a few doubles. Also, the old side of the Dana Lyons building, the original side of the school, will be renovated and turned into a community center," Sweet said.
Debby Afterman Issues To Be Discussed By Steuben Co
The Steuben County Legislature is having three special committee meetings on Monday, August 26. That’ll be special meetings of the Human Services, Health Education Committee, the Agriculture, Industry and Planning Committee and the Public Works Committee. Local issues that are a result of flooding from Tropical Storm Debby will be discussed. Among them, how much the county will charge in tipping fees for flood debris being brought in to the county landfill.
Local Fire Depts Holds Group Training At The Bath VA
Officials with the Hammondsport Fire Department report that they did group training recently, at the Bath VA, with fire departments from the Bath VA, Bath, Avoca and Kanona.
