Tour De Keuka 2024 - A Huge Success
The United Way says Tour De Keuka 2024, brought in over $100,000. According to the United Way, the money will go to children, senior citizens and people in need in Steuben and Chemung Counties.
$5,000,000 From Federal Emergency Management Agency Will Go Into Repairs For Steuben County Towns Damaged By The July 15 And July 16 Flooding
Steuben County Manager Jack Wheeler tells WVIN News that Steuben County is expecting to get a total of about $5,000,000 dollars from FEMA because of the mid-July flooding, for those areas which suffered the most damage. "Woodhull, Tuscarora, Addison, Rathbone, Greenwood - that portion of Steuben County was the most severely hit," Wheeler said. "We've alread received some funds and we anticipate more. They are projects to restore roads or bridges that have been damaged, FEMA has approved funding for those, and we have the guaruntee from FEMA that we will receive those funds," Wheeler said.
New County Medical Crews Are Based In Bath, Woodhull
The new Steuben County paramedic Advanced Life Support program, which takes care of patients with medical emergencies between Bath and Canisteo, is usually based out of Bath, but that can change throughout the day, depending on where the emergency is at that moment. Also, the basic life support EMT program is based out of Woodhull. The EMT and Paramedic programs are one month old and have helped out over 130 people in Steuben County so far.

CBS News reports that in New York State, Governor Kathy Hochul is sending out checks for $330 dollars, per child, to families who qualify for the Empire State Child Tax Credit. CBS says that’s for married couples making $110,000 or less, single parents making $75,000 or less, and married couples filing separately who make $55,000 or less.
