A $75,000 Grant To Study The Route 54 Corridor

Congressman Nick Langworthy has announced a $75,000 grant for the Steuben County Industrial Development Agency.   Langworthy says the grant is coming from the Appalachian Regional Commission.  "“Steuben County has a proud history as a manufacturing powerhouse, and this funding will help us build on that legacy,” said Congressman Langworthy. “By investing in the necessary site analyses, we can attract new advanced manufacturing companies, create jobs, and strengthen the local economy. I’m proud to support this initiative, which will pave the way for future growth in our region.”  Steuben County I.D.A. Director Jamie Johnson tells WVIN News that the money will be used to do a Route 54 Corridor analysis.  "To determine the future developability of vacant lands along the Route 54 Corridor," Johnson said this morning.  "It's the result of recent activity that has occured in the last few years, with development along the corridor.  We want to make sure that future opportunities and future development are well planned out, and that there is some level of approvals already in place so that we can continue to help support growth in the Bath community," said Johnson.
