Steuben County DA Working On A Case In A Nearby County
Steuben County District Attorney Brooks Baker has been working this week on an Allegany County case, the Billy Larson Jr. homicide case. Larson was found guilty in 2023, of killing his parents back in 2019, in the Allegany County Town of Cuba. District Attorney Baker tells us that the prosecution has to have their arguments in on Monday. "There was a lengthy five day sentencing hearing held in this case, that was in May," Baker said. "We have been directed by the court to submit our closing arguments on that matter, this week. The defense has already gotten their arguments in, the prosecution is due on Monday July 8. Then, the judge, Judge Terry Parker, will decide on whether or not to given a downward departure on the murder sentence, based on Larson's claims that he was the victim of domestic violence from his mother. Our position is, that was not the situation," Baker explained.
