Primary Results From Tuesday Night

The winners of last night’s primary races are: for the Bath Town Clerk’s primary, Terra Thorpe.  For the Wheeler Town Board’s primary, Heather Trenchard.  In the Wheeler Town Highway Superintendent’s primary, Doug Towner.  In the new 24^th Congressional District, numerous media outlets are saying that Republican Congresswoman Claudia Tenney won the new 24^th congressional seat.  Also, Tenney won in Steuben County.  The Democrat candidate running in the new 24^th Congressional District will be, Dave Wickenhauser of Waterloo.

Public Hearing Is Coming Up At Campbell Town Hall

The Town of Campbell will hold a public hearing on July 8, at 10:00 am at The Campbell Town Hall.  The Campbell Town Board will be hearing public comments about the Campbell Water System Improvements Project.  The Campbell Town Board at this hearing will also provide more info about the progress of the project.

 

Hochul: Free Fishing Weekend At The End oF This Month

Governor Kathy Hochul announced today that the June 29 and 30 is a free fishing weekend in New York State. During free fishing days, the fishing license requirement is waived for freshwater fishing on New York’s waters.

 

New Body Scanner For The Steuben County Jail In Bath

From Sheriff Jim Allard:  A new body scanner was installed at the jail yesterday. The AllTek84 Intercept® is the most advanced x-ray body scanning system for the detection of weapons, drugs, cell phones and other contraband in seconds. Patented technology allows the scanner to detect metallic and nonmetallic threats concealed under clothing and within body cavities in 3.8 seconds. The ultra-low dose x-ray scanning safely creates sharp, clear images. Bottom line, this new scanner will help us create a safer environment for the people who are housed or work inside our correctional facility.
