Library Budget Voting Is Today Here In Bath

Officials with the Dormann Library in Bath say that voting is today from 12pm-8pm, at the library.  This is a budget vote.

 

Heat Advisory Starts At 12Noon Today (Goes Till Thurs 8pm)

New York State Governor Kathy Hochul says because of the extreme heat, the state emergency operations center has been activated.   And Steuben County Public Safety Director Tim Marshall says to use libraries as cooling centers, and that St Mary’s Church on East Morris Street is open today for a cooling center as well. 

 

Update On County Route 333 Construction Work

Steuben County Department of Public Works Commissioner Eric Rose says that part of County Route 333 in the Town of Campbell, will be down to one lane of traffic and that’s from June 24th to July 3rd, from 6 am to 6 pm on those days.  This is for milling and paving. On-street parking is prohibited during construction and traffic delays will happen.

 

Accidental Fall In Allegany County This Morning

Over in Allegany County in the 7am hour this morning, county officials there said that an Allegany County worker fell off the roof of the county building in Belmont.  The worker was said to be a male, and said to be unconscious after falling off the roof.  There was talk of flying him to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. 

 

Court Update On Shoot Out Suspect Schoonover

Coming up on Thursday, Bath shooting suspect Larry Schoonover is in Steuben County Court for a pretrial appearance.   Schoonover is accused of firing gunshots at law enforcement on Roosevelt Avenue in Bath in August of last year.

 

Vietnam Vets Event in Cassadaga, Chautuaqua County

Republican Congressman Nick Langworthy says he’s having a Vietnam Veterans event, that will be in the Chautauqua County town of Cassadaga, Monday July 1 at 2pm.  To register to attend the event, please contact the congressman’s office 202 225 3161. 

 
Schumer And The Women's Reproductive Act

Democrat US Senate Majority Leader, Senator Chuck Schumer, says he’s pushing to get the Women’s Reproductive Act passed in the Senate.  "I just took the first step on the Senate floor to move forward on the Reproductive Freedom for Women Act. It affirms a woman’s right to choose and fights for reproductive freedoms. I want to thank @PattyMurray  and all my colleagues who cosponsored this bill."
