Horseheads Man Dies After Driving Into A Building 

The Chemung County Sheriff’s Department reports that a 61 year old man in Horseheads was driving a truck and apparently had a cardiac arrest and accidentally drove into the Interstate Battery Building there in Horseheads.   The driver, Michael Vargo, was found to be unresponsive and taken to Arnot Ogden and was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital.

 

Public Info Meeting In Two Weeks At Wheeler Town hall

The Wheeler Town Board will be holding a Public Information Meeting at the Wheeler Community Building on Fritz Hill Road on Monday July 1st, at 6pm.  The public hearing will be about: should the highway superintrendent’s job in Wheeler be an elected position or an appointed position? 

 

Gillibrand: Lets Return To The Old Way On Milk Prices

Democrat U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand who chairs a Senate Ag Committee on Livestock, Dairy, etc., is asking the USDA to get back to the Federal Milk Marketing Order system pricing.  According to the Jamestown Post Journal, Gillibrand says nationwide, farmers have lost over a billion dollars because of the changes to the milk pricing system.

 

Mario Fratto Vs. Claudia Tenney House Race Update

Congresswoman Claudia Tenney says the Republican’s version of National Defense Authorization Act gets rid of the military green new deal and abolishes D.E.I. in Department of Defense Schools.  Tenney’s opponent, Geneva Republican Mario Fratto, is campaigning in Oswego tomorrow.  Tenney and Fratto are up for a vote in a primary on June 25th in the new 24th congressional district, which includes the northern part of Steuben County.
