Power Outages In Steuben And Allegany Co's Tonight

The heavy winds came through the region causing over 450 power outages tonight in Campbell.  That's according to NYSEG.  There were also scattered outages in Thurston and Urbana in the 6:00 hours this evening.  Allegany County officials say that  over 200 NYSEG customers lost power in Birdsall, Over 110 lost power in the town of Burns

Over 450 were without power in the town of Grove.

 

School Budget And School Board Voting Results 

BATH -  The Budget 342 yes votes 82 no votes

The Bath Bus Proposition passed, there were 334 yes votes and 84 no votes.  Alos, in Bath’s Board of Education seat race, the winner was Tess McKinley, who received 348 votes.

HAMMONDSPORT - Voters in Hammondsport approved their budget, 220 yes votes over 28 no votes.  Also Kevin Bennett won the BOE seat.  The bus prop passed in Hammondsport. 

AVOCA - Avoca voters easily passed the budget and the vehicle proposition , 120 yes votes for the budget, over 34 no votes.  The vehicle prop got 126 yes votes and 27 no votes.  Also in Avoca, Shane Slayton won the school board race. 

ADDISON - Budget vote: YES = 246; NO = 120

Board of Education Winners: 

James Mosher = 281

James Mitchell = 188

CAMPBELL-SAVONA - Campbell Savona voters, approved their budget, there were 156 yes votes for the budget there, and the library vote passed too, getting 118 yes votes….and ricky salvagin won the school board seat in campbell savona.  

PRATTSBURGH - In Prattsburgh, the budget passed, 171 yes votes, over 74 no votes, also in Prattsburgh, the capital project passed, getting 156 yes votes, the library proposition passed and the school board winners in Prattsburgh were Stefanie Randall, Brian Chaffee and Donald Presher. 

 

On That Gas Leak From Tuesday Afternoon In Bath

There was a gas leak yesterday in Bath.  Village Mayor Michael Sweet says they evacuated areas from Main Street to Campbell Street in Bath and that Bath Electric Water and Gas and Bath village crews got right to work on the fixing the leak.

 

Senator Gillibrand's Statement To Farmers, On Avian Flu 

“The recent outbreak of avian flu poses a direct threat to rural America and our public health. New York is home to many poultry and dairy farmers, and avian flu has already forced many farmers to make hard choices that affect their livestock and prices for consumers,” said Senator Gillibrand. “I am calling on the White House Office of Pandemic Preparedness and Response Policy to disclose what guidance they have released to agencies and states, what was their initial assessment of the outbreak, and what steps have they taken since the outbreak began. It's time to use the lessons we learned from the COVID-19 pandemic and strengthen our defenses before it is too late. As the wild bird migration continues this spring, I stand ready to work with our federal partners to contain this outbreak.” 

 

Penn Yan Strudents Visit O'Mara And Palmesano In Albany

Some Penn Yan students visited the state capital in Albany.   They were 5th Graders from St Michaels School in Penn Yan and they met with Corning Republican Assemblyman Phil Palmesano and Big Flats GOP State Senator Tom O’Mara.
