It's May 21 - School Voting Day Is Here
It’s School board candidate/school budget voting day. Voting at most local schools goes from 12pm-8pm. Bath School Superintendent Kelly Houck tells us that the cuts in state aid are creating a situation where Bath has to have a tax increase and also use some reserve funds. However, the superintendent says that the Bath School System was fortunate, because Bath did not lose as much in state aid, as other schools did. "We're lucky at Bath, we didn't experience the cuts to the same degree as other districts in the region," Houck said on Community Focus with Dave Taylor Smith. "Some districts have lost $3,000,000 to $4,000,000, It's almost a double whammy. We're losing both the federal funds at the same time that the state is making a statement about school funding,"
