Fire This Morning In The Town Of Bath

There was a shed and car fire this morning in Bath, that was near Selleck Road.  Fire Departments which responded included the Bath Volunteer Fire Department, Bath VA, Hammondsport, Prattsburgh, Bradford, Wayne, Savona, Kanona and Painted Post.  From Bath Volunteer Fire Spokesman John Conrad:  "It was called in as a large structure fire, it turned out to be a shed and a car on fire. The first team made a good knock down saving the garage." 

 

Two Hammondsport School Town Halls This Week

There’s going to be two Hammondsport School meetings this week.  Hammondsport School Superintendent Kyle Bower will be holding a town hall meeting tomorrow to discuss the district's proposedschool budget.  It will be a Zoom town hall tomorrow at 7pm. The link will be posted tomorrow morning on Facebook.  The Hammondsport School Superintendent will also be holding a town hall meeting in the high school library this Thursday at 6pm. That will also be about the proposed school budget.

 

Troopers: The Results Of Operation Hard Hat

State Police for this region, Troop E, report that they recently spend over 2500 hours, in and around work zones with the state department of Transportation.  Troopers say they issued 354 traffic tickets, including 206 tickets for speeding, four for holding cell phones while driving and there were two DWI’s.

 

Gillibrand's Fend Off Fentynal Act, Is Signed Into Law

Democrat US Senator Kirsten Gillibrand says President Joe Biden has signed the Fend Off Fentynal Act into law.  Gillibrand says quote, “Ive met far too many New York State families who lost loved ones to the Fentynal crisis, and this new law will help crack down on fentynal trafficking into our communities and save more innocent lives.
