Palmesano's Rural Equity Forum, Yesterday In Bath 

Assemblyman Phil Palmesano held a forum about small towns, yesterday afternoon in Bath.  "We had about 20 stakeholders from different industies," Palmesano tells WVIN.  "From education, to economic development, mental health, municipal officials, the sheriff was there, we had broadband and internet providers - a whole host of people who came, to share their thoughts on life, and the opportunities we have here, in smaller communities," Palmesano stated.  


Langworthy Talks About Bath VA, In Washington D.C. 

Republican Congressman Nick Langworthy spoke on the House Floor recently ,about how he was at the Bath VA earlier this year, with VFW State Commander Dan Pell.   "I had the privilege of touring the Bath VA Medical Center with him," Langworthy stated.  "Witnessing firsthand Pell's tireless committment that the veterans receive the care and support that they deserve," Langworthy stated.  

 

Wreath Laying Is This Saturday, At Bath National Cemetary

Volunteers are needed for the Wreaths Across America Day ceremony and wreath laying event at the Bath National Cemetery on Saturday, December 16.  The public is invited to attend the wreath-laying ceremony that begins at noon and participate in the placing of the wreaths immediately following the ceremony. Attendees are recommended to arrive by 11:30 am where they can walk to the cemetery from the parking area or take the shuttle. You might want to carpool,to limited parking. Refreshments will be provided.  Volunteers are urged to contact  Wreaths Across America, at 607-962-0765. 

 

MInimum Wage Increase Starts With The New Year 2024

Minimum wage is going up to $15.00 an hour, starting January 1.  That’s according to Governor Kathy Hochul.  That particular minimum wage increase was passed in the spring 2023 state budget.
