Santas Day Off Is Going On Now In Bath

From now until 6pm this evening, it’s Santa’s Day Off at the Bath Fire Station.  Wvin is at the Bath Volunteer Fire Department, collecting new, unwrapped toys, as part of Santa’s Day Off today.

LP Building Solutions, which has a facility in Bath, has been named as one of America’s Most Responsible Companies for 2024 by both Newsweek and Statista.   "'The survey results suggest that companies have been making improvements in certain areas over the last three years, with social responsibility scores notably on the rise,' Michael Bausch, senior analyst at Statista, tells Newsweek. 'This positive trend indicates a commitment to enhancing corporate practices, particularly in response to societal expectations. The data reflects a gradual but encouraging evolution in companies' efforts to fulfill their responsibilities, highlighting a positive shift in their overall approach.'"


Prattsburgh Central Reschedules Honor Society Event

Due to inclement weather, the National Honor Society Induction Ceremony scheduled for today, December 7th, at 9:00 a.m., will be postponed until tomorrow, December 8th, at 9:00 a.m. A brief reception will be held immediately after the ceremony. Campbell Savona To Host A Town Meeting About Electric School Buses, O'Mara And Palmesano Will Be There

Campbell Savona Central is having a community meeting on Thursday January 11 at 7pm, about the state making schools switch to electric buses. Senator O’Mara and Assemblyman Phil Palmesano will be on the panel discussing this.  

Campbell Savona is also having their Senior Winter Concert on Tuesday December 12 at 7:00 that night in the Stephen B. Morley Auditorium.And Campbell Savona is having their Junior High Holiday concert on Tuesday December 19 at 7pm.

 

Governor Kathy Hochul: Flu Numbers Are Up Statewide

Governor Kathy Hochul says the number of flu cases is up 25 percent in just one week.  Steuben County Public Health Director Darlene Smith says, sometime on Friday, the county public health office will be getting the numbers of Flu cases, here in Steuben County. 

 

Schumer: It's A Sad Night For America

Last night Senate Democrat Majority Leader Chuck Schumer posted the following statement: "It’s a Sad night for the Senate and America: Republicans blocked funding for Ukraine, Israel, humanitarian aid for civilians in Gaza, funding for the Indo-Pacific If Republicans don't get serious about a national security package, Putin's going to walk right through Ukraine and Europe."

 

Langworthy Votes Against EPA Changing Vehicle Motors

Republican Congressman Nick Langworthy is voting for House Resolution 4468, to prevent the Environmental Protection Agency from changing rules on emissions from cars. Langworthy says, it was unelected bureaucrats at the EPA, who passed the rule, which will go into effect in 2027.

 

A New Report From The State Noted That Many NYC Residents Left During The Pandemic
State Comptroller Tom Dinapoli issued a report which talks about how a lot of people left New York City during the pandemic.  In the report, which was released yesterday, Dinapoli says 1 out of 100 New York City residents left the state in 2020.
