20 Year Old Bath Male, Facing Charges, After Allegedly  Threatening Someone With A Realistic Looking AIrgun

Bath Village Police report that Nicholas Harrison, 20, Bath, is charged for allegedly threatening someone with "what appeared to be a pistol"  The alleged incident is said to have happened on November 28 on Howell Street, Bath.  The two charges against Harrison are 4th Degree Criminal Possession of a Weapon and 2nd Degree Menacing.  Bath Police also say that Harrison was said to have been found in possession of a black airsoft  gun.  

 

Joint Statement From The County And The Deputies Union

Steuben County and the Deputies Association of the County of Steuben are pleased to announce the finalization of a multi-year contract for our sworn law enforcement officers. With unanimous support from the County Legislature and a successful vote of the Association, this contract will cover the years of 2021-2024, providing these staff members with both fair retroactive pay increases and competitive salaries for the coming year.
“The Deputies Association of the County of Steuben would like to thank County administration for sitting down with us to find a resolution for fair and competitive salaries,” said Association President Matthew Sorge. “We would also like to thank the County Legislature for the unanimous vote for the approval of these fair and competitive wages. It was through the support of the community and continuous lines of communication that we were able to reach this deal.”
“While negotiations can, at times, become contentious, the County Legislature and administration have maintained its desire to find an amicable and equitable resolution to this process,” said Steuben County Manager Jack Wheeler. “We are very appreciative of the hard work and collaboration of the leadership of the Deputies Association and maintain great respect for the dedication of our law enforcement officers. We are one team in Steuben County government and look forward continuing our partnership with the Deputies Association and its members.”

 

Erie County Woman Charged For Allegedly Trying To Kidnap Two Babies Here In Steuben County

Steuben County District  Attorney Brooks Baker reports that Mary Beth H. Lewis, 66, of the Erie County Town of Elma, is charged with Attempted 2nd degree Kidnapping, 2nd Degree Forgery, 1st Degree Falsifying Business Records and numerous other charges, including 2nd degree perjury.  She is accused of attempting to take custody of two infant children born in Steuben County, who were born in what’s being described as a fraudulent surrogacy agreement in Steuben County.  The 66 year old Erie County woman is pleading not guilty to all the charges.  

 

Gov. Kathy Hochul: Funding For Jasper Road Repairs

Governor Kathy Hochul says, $400,000 is going towards a project  to resurface Route 417 in Jasper.  A total of 66 roads statewide, are getting funding for this sort of work.

 

Santa's Day Off Is Happening This Thursday In Bath

On Thursday of this week, December 7, WVIN will be having an all day event called Santa’s Day Off, at the Bath Fire Department.  It’s going to go from 7am to 6pm Thursday.   WVIN will be at the Bath fire department and will be collecting toys for kids that day. 

 

Wreaths Across America Ceremony At Bath Nat'l Cemetary

Coming up on On Saturday, December 16, at noon, there will be the Wreaths Across America ceremony at the Bath National Cemetery.  They say that in 2022, more than 3,700 wreaths were placed on Veterans' graves in Bath.
